Jancar Jones Gallery

The gallery was opened in February 2008, by Eric Renehan Jones and Ava Jancar, as a reaction to the tendencies toward the oversaturated and increasingly redundant regional trends infiltrating the art venues of San Francisco. The aim was to create a space in which the gestures of the conscious yet slight could be appreciated. The space, itself quite small, was chosen and designed with the intention of compliment- ing such minimal yet developed works. Founded on the belief that the work hung within its walls will have an awareness of and concern for both the past and the present, the gallery’s physical space strives to equally reflect these qualities.
